Plastic pipes that pass-through fire-rated walls and floors can serve as potential pathways for the spread of fire and smoke during an fire incident. Products like Intumescent Pipe Wraps are not only cost-effective but also provide more protection in the event of a fire.
Pipe Wraps offer a simple and more economical alternative to Intumescent Pipe Collars for firestopping plastic pipework and electrical trunking in walls and floors.
The intumescent pipe collar is suitable for use, where the plastic pipe passes through, leaving both solid walls and floor slabs. In a fire the intumescent will expand and clos any holes left by the collapsing pipe, so they can retain the structures integrity.

Our pipe wraps are designed to fit around the pipe to be protected and backfill the aperture with a sand and cement mix or fire mortar or if a tight fit, then seal both faces with Firesure® intumescent acrylic sealant.
- The intumescent material is inserted in a plastic sleeve and positioned by means of adhesive tabs.
- You then slide the wrap up into the slab or wall. If the hole is larger once the wrap is in place, backfill the hole around the pipe and wrap via a fire mortar, cement-based mix, or other suitable material to repress the intumescent material and allow it to expand internally.
- For smaller gaps, make sure to use the Firesure® intumescent mastic sealant.
When installed properly, our pipe wraps can offer excellent protection against potential fires originating either outside, inside or travelling from other structures, helping to contain the spread of fires.
