If the frame has been painted or varnished then make sure the surface has been cleaned thoroughly, removing all grease and dust and dried thoroughly. New wooden frames that have not been painted or varnished should be sealed with a wood sealer or painted/varnished.
If fire and smoke seal required then fix brush smoke seal first, peel off the backing tape and then press into position butted to the edge of the frame stop opposite the door edge, then peel off the backing tape from the intumescent strip and press into place butted up to the smoke seal.
