Intumescent fire, smoke and draft seals fit into a rebate on the fire door or frame so that, when subject to heat, it expands to many times its size and fill the gaps with a flame-tight seal for 30 or 60 minutes,.

The lengths should be cut to size to suit the two sides and the head of the frame. With the door in the closed position, place the seal on the frame against the side of the stops, both sides and head of frame ensuring even contact of the draft/smoke seal brush with the door face. Pin the strips at each end then centrally. Open the door and ensure the door closes suitably on the door closure whilst making even contact with the seal, adjust the seal position if needed. Fix the remaining pins in the preformed holes to complete. Ensure newly painted doors are dry before closing onto the brush.
