Intumescent Duct Wrap

Description

A flexible Intumescent wrap designed to fit around rectangular plastic ventilation ducting. The Intumescent material is enclosed in a plastic sleeve and secured by means of a self adhesive tab. A range of duct sizes are available.
A metal sleeve can be provided for use in a stud wall.

Application

The wrap is Suitable for use where plastic ventilation ducts pass through both walls and floor slabs. In a fire the Intumescent expands and closes the hole left by the collapsing duct, so retaining the structures integrity.
In a stud partition wall 90 minutes fire integrity was achieved during the fire test.

Installation

The wrap is placed around the duct and secured with double sided tape. The position of the wrap on the duct must be where the duct passes through the fire rated structure to maintain the structures integrity. Where the duct passes through a stud wall then a metal sleeve must be used to bridge the cavity of the stud in accordance with the test criteria.
